We understand that a visit to the dentist for anyone can cause some anxiety.

The dental environment can be highly stimulating, and for many children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a visit to the dentist can result in sensory overload.

Our aim, as Paediatric Dentists, is to make good dental health available to everyone.

Sensational Days at Kiddies Dental Care enables parents/carers to bring their children into an environment that is calm, relaxed and as stress-free as possible. This service is also appropriate for sensory and dentally anxious children.

As a part of our service, we can offer the following:

A caring team

Kiddies Dental Care Sensational Days Clinic will be run by Carlee, our Oral Health Therapist who has a special interest in treating patients with ASD and has completed research in this field.

Carlee works closely with Dr. Kar Mun Chan and our Specialist Dentists at Kiddies Dental Care. If any complex or extensive treatment is required, they can attend consultations in an environment that will assist the child’s needs, keeping things as consistent and comfortable as possible.

Take a look around our relaxed and calm environment

Our environment can be adapted to our patients, which is why we offer an extensive phone consultation prior to the initial appointment. This can include more natural lighting options, music playing and even advising parents to bring items that may make them feel more comfortable.

Our aim to create a stress-free experience for both parents and children including the following modifications:

Quiet clinics with limited staff which helps to create a more relaxed environment for your child. Our goal is to prevent sensory overload, that may otherwise be experienced within a traditional dental visit.

Did you know that waiting to be seen can cause the most anxiety? Reduced waiting times help prevent anxiety for your child and for you, while waiting to be seen.

Longer appointment times, enabling our staff to take things slowly and for the patients to explore and become comfortable with the environment.

A selection of sensory products such as fidgets and weighted items are available to help create comfort or distraction while treatments are taking place.
